CARTOSAT
- 1
cartosat-1 is a state of the art remote sensing satellite built by the Indian Space Research organization
(ISRO) to fulfill the increasing demand of large scale and topographic mapping. It carries two Panchromatic (PAN) cameras to acquire two images simultaneously. The PAN fore
(looking forward) mounted with a tilt of +26 degrees and the PAN aft mounted with a tilt of -5 degrees to generate stereoscopic imagery. The swath covered by these high resolution PAN cameras is 30 km and their spatial resolution is
2.5 m. |
CARTOSAT
- 2
following its successful deployment into orbit on 10 January, 2007, Cartosat-2 is now set to offer stereoscopic data of 1 meter resolution.

RESOURCESAT-1
Linear
Imaging Self Scanning (LISS-IV and LISS-III) and an Advanced Wide Field
Sensor (AWiFS) onboard Resourcesat-1 offer satellite imagery users with
high quality data at various spatial resolutions.
LISS-IV with
its high spatial resolution (5.8 m) offers data suitable for applications
such as:
- Topographic mapping using stereo data
- Urban planning and monitoring
- Natural resources management
- Precision farming
